A couple sitting together

Does any of this sound familiar?

  • A late reply or a change in tone that sends your mind straight to the worst.
  • Needing reassurance, then struggling to believe it once you have it.
  • Holding on tighter when someone pulls back, or pulling away first so it hurts less.
  • Staying in relationships that aren't good for you, because being alone feels worse.

The fear has a history.

A fear of being left usually makes sense once you see where it started. Often it comes from early experiences of loss, inconsistency or rejection, and it is still trying to protect you from being hurt that way again. You shouldn't have to live braced for the next goodbye, and you don't have to untangle it on your own.

Do you offer virtual sessions?

Yes. Sessions are available in person in Langley and online anywhere in British Columbia, in English or Farsi.

Fees

The 20 minute consultation is free. Sessions start at $170. There is no wait list, and direct billing is available for many extended health plans. Counselling with a Registered Clinical Counsellor is exempt from GST, so the price shown is the price you pay.

Left alone, the fear of being left can push away the very closeness it is trying to protect. It doesn't have to keep playing out that way.
